Korea Junior Water Prize

  • Korea Junior Water Prize(KJWP) is annual national competition since 2009, inviting junior students to compete with their projects to improve water quality, water resources management, water protection, water and wastewater treatment as well as social related aspects of water.
  • Award of the Prime Minister is given to the most outstanding team with privilege of participating in the international competition; Stockholm Junior Water Prize(SJWP).
    * Largest water competition for youth from 50countries all over the world

Objectives

Improvement of youth's active interest, researching abilities, and water related knowledge

Exchange with international youth by participating international program, experience various advanced cultures as a member of international society

Making an establishment as a future water sector leader by exploring knowledge and making local and international network

Projects are screened based on a written report, a short presentation and interviews by juries at each screening stage.

Participant

High school student groups of one to two students aged 15 to 18 with Korean nationality and one tutor

Research topic

Present innovative approaches to address water problems with environmental, scientific, social or technological importance related to water, scope is classified as local, regional, country, or world level.
Use scientifically recognized research-oriented research methods such as research, experimentation, observation, results reporting, and statistical analysis.

International contest

The winner of the national contest participates in the international contest. Korea Junior Water Prize’ winner can only obtain the opportunity to attend the Stockholm Junior Water Prize.
