Water Industry

Korea Water Forum has been operating high quality business networking platform as a tool of high-tech exchanges as well as necessary policy development for more boosting local water industry. Utilizing diverse industry exchange functions, the Korea Water Forum is willing to offer a support for many business sectors to do their business at global markets, and contribute to increasing water valuation in an economic and industrial aspects.

Major Contents

EXPO

  • In cooperation with many public organizations, providing a wide range of venue for information exchanges covering overall industrial sectors in water.
  • Actualizing a close business networking that based on diverse industrial needs about e.g. R&D projects, advancing abroad together, and support for cooperation in G2B area.

Water Business Partnering

  • Creating multi aspects of long-term cooperation objectives supporting exchanges among various global stakeholders by holding regular meetings.
  • Broadening cooperative issues e.g. culture, environmental information knowledge, scientific technology and diversifying partners e.g. civil organization, academia, company, local government for mutual cooperation.

Water Business Forum

  • Sharing current and potential issues for shaping the global water future together with Key multiple stakeholders.
  • Building strong network to develop new alliances and strategies in cooperation with other countries
    ※ The program will comprise of opening, thematic sessions, etc. and be posted online in due course.

Water Partner Square

  • Providing G2B and B2B matching opportunities to create innovative activities and projects across countries.
  • Supporting win-win cooperation for sustainable business model among governments, public and private sectors.

Major Activities

Sep. 28 – Dec. 31, 2020

  • Online Water Expo
    • Due to the difficulties to hold EXPO onsite caused by COVID-19, KWF constructed the virtual exchanges channel that enable for home companies and relevant organizations in water field to both share information on e.g. technologies, facilities, and support programs and conduct promotion.

5 September, 2019

  • 12th Water Business Forum
    • Under the theme of ‘Developing best practices through technology exchanges between the public and private sectors’, the 12th Water Business Forum was held, and the Water Partner Square, pin-point business meeting, which is aiming at exchanges among seven global contractors(government and public corporation) and exhibitors was also held during the KIWW 2019.

    • Co-hosted by NAWAPI (National Center for Water Resources Planning and Investigation) and K-water, it provided networking opportunities with the Vietnam governments, local authorities and water industry stakeholders.

    • KOICA invested 10 billion KRW and Korea Rural Community Corporation & K-water, NCICD (National Capital Integrated Coastal Development) co-processed the project.

  • Follow-up meeting on the intergovernmental agreement of Rep. of Korea & Netherlands
    • The Rep. of Korea and Netherlands created cooperative measures on the Indonesia NCICD project.

  • 1st Water Business Forum
    • in the 7th World Water Forum, it provided networking opportunities with 13 countries including governments and local authorities, water industry stakeholders.

  • Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, Rep. of Korea & Department of Infrastructure and Environment, Netherlands LoI agreement
    • Through the LoI agreement signed, two countries co-proceed the joint research on overseas projects, promoting cooperation among water related organizations and supporting business meetings.

Providing the opportunity to developing new business through enhencing global project cooperation and networking

    • Under the core theme of 'Utilizing global opportunity through Technology, Innovation and Finance', six global contractors(from government and public corporation) and seven private corporations, otherwise host country Korea, gathered together and shared latest information and knowledge in water industry.

Generating global project cooperation opportunity through pin-point business meeting

    • Reflecting prospect participants’ needs, organized one-on-one business matching named ‘Water Partner Squre’ facilitating future project cooperation not only through initial stage of networking but also closed personal meeting
    • twenty matching meetings from seven counties arranged that had a total estimated value of $ 6 million

Providing global networks for public-private partnership and international cooperation in the water sector

    • Under the core theme 'Harnessing Global Opportunity through Technology, Innovation and Finance', it created a dialogue channel for international water cooperation and partnership opportunities among key stakeholders including governments, local authorities, international organizations and Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs).

Organizing business meetings among the KIWW 2018 participants and exhibitors in connection with EXPO

    • More than 84 business meetings arranged through the Water Partner Square (on and off line business matching program), which had a total estimated value of $ 60 million.

    • During the Water Expo in the SIWW 2018, KWF and 5 selected Korean companies co-operated the booth, arranging more than 120 business meetings through the Water Partner Square (onsite business matching program), which had a total estimated value of $7 million.
