International Network

Serving as a communication channel between government agencies and private organizations by strengthening network with following international partner organizations.

World Water Council

Almost 370 governments and international organizations from about 60 countries around the world are working in WWC as members and board of directors.

  • Worked as a Bureau member and board of governor (2005~), as a board of governor (2009~2015, 2018~2021)
    ※ Korea Water Forum President, World Water Council executive director(2009~2012)
  • Attend Board of Governor Meeting and General Assembly.
  • As a follow up collaborative action of the 7th World Water Forum, Implementation Roadmap(IR) and Action Monitoring System were co-managed with WWC and semi-annual report of the IR has been published since 2016 for five times including Synthesis Progress Report which will be launching in the 8th World Water Forum.
    ※ Managed with WWC and semi-annual report(4 times, 2016-2017), Published total-annual report(2018), Organized Implementation Roadmap review meeting (2 times, 2016-2017),Organized Implementation Roadmap specila session (8th World Water Forum), Operated Action Monitoring System(Yearly)
  • As a another collaborative follow up action is the World Water Partnership, the gathering of the previous host countries of the World Water Fora dealing with the imminent water issues and draw action plan.

Asia Pacific Water Forum

As a follow-up of the 4th World Water Forum, APWF was established by the support of various organizations such as Japanese government, international organizations, and Multilateral Development Banks in the ministerial-level conference of adopting joint declaration.

  • As a partner organization of APWF, KWF attends Governing Council meetings , serving as a coordinator of Northeast Asia region (Korea, Japan, China, Mongolia), and shares case studies and practices.

Delta Coalition

Held cabinet and working-level meetings as an international cooperative network to accomplish sustainable development of Delta, SDG 6 (Water and Sanitation) by environmental preservation, and SDG 11 (sustainable city construction)

  • The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport attends as a Korean government organization and Korea Water Forum attends related meetings as a local focal point.
    *13 Delta related countries attended
    (Netherlands, Japan, Korea, France, Indonesia, Egypt, Myanmar, Colombia, the Philippines, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Mozambique, Argentina)

Water Partnership

Holding joint seminars with the Netherlands Water Partnership and the France Water Partnership and Global Water Partnership; identifying exchange activities and joint projects through collaborative agreement.

Partner Agencies

Northern Water NetWork (NoWNET), Arab Countries Water Utility Association (ACWUA), International Water Association (IWA), Asia Water Council (AWC), Public Utilities Board, Global Institute for Water Environment and Health etc. attended by partnership contract.
